The Emergency Services by Numbers is the Danish Emergency Management Agency’s annual report, comprising key figures for both municipal and state emergency services in Denmark. The publication is primarily intended as a reference work, providing an overview of the scale and development of Danish emergency services.

For 2023, it is noted that the municipal emergency services experienced a slight increase in the number of false alarms, while there was a small decrease in the number of actual alarms. The total man-hours used in municipal emergency services in 2023 is slightly higher than in 2022, with response and departure times remaining on par with 2022.

For the state emergency services, the number of incidents and man-hours is lower than in the past three years but higher than in 2018 and 2019. Assistance to municipal emergency services accounted for 43% of the total deployments by the Danish Emergency Management Agency in 2023, an increase compared to 2022, where such assistance comprised 33% of the total.

The number of fatal fires and fire-related deaths in 2023 is near the lowest ever recorded, while the number of fires in electric/hybrid vehicles and smaller lithium-ion products is on the rise.
